About me: Christian

My Idea was to create a cruise for men only of all ages.

I wanted to bring my passion for casual cruising on big ships and the exclusivity of yachts summer together in a vacation.

A vacation to get away from daily routine into a time of relaxation, fun, and enjoyment.

The Flamingo Cruise 2022 showed me that my idea worked out.

So join me in 2023 on the next Flamingo Cruise.

How the Flamingo Cruise was born

Every plan starts with a dream, but the plan of Flamingo Cruise started with a vacation in 2021.

The experience we found on the yachts managed and operated by Katarina Line is the kind of experience we want to create for you on your Flamingo Cruise.

With Katarina Line we have partnered up with premier small ship cruise company in Croatia, which has its roots in the family, and runs 60 ships and yachts.

The yacht which operates for Katarina Line is a family business as well. Each family plans, builds and runs their yachts and their intention is it to create an unforgettable time for you on their home, your yacht for the Flamingo Cruise.

Each yacht is unique and this is the charme of the Katharina Line ships.

Katharina Line, the yacht owner familes and Flamingo Cruise welcome you on board and we all want to make your trip unique.

  • Concept of Flamingo Cruise:
Flamingo Cruise is an all-male cruise concept for men who are looking for a relaxed week of vacation with same-minded people.

  • Travel arrangements:

    • The cruise starts and end in Split harbor. Boarding 14:00-17:00 hrs, De-boardig 09:00 hrs

    • Split airport is served from all mayor European airports and airlines as well as holiday- and budget-airlines. By the mayor airlines it is also well connected to oversea destinations

    • It is a 30 mins. taxi ride from Split Airport to the pier. Uber and Bolt is also availabile, as well as public bus services.

  • The Yachts:
Modern and state of the art vessels, 42 to 47 meters in length. The vast sun deck includes a hot tub, a beautiful lounge area and sunbeds to enjoy wonderful Adriatic scenery. Deluxe vessels feature spacious, lavishly designed, air-conditioned en-suite cabins (12 to 17m2 in size) with double or twin beds, safety deposit box, LCD TV, bathroom toiletries, hairdryer, cupboard & wardrobe cabinet.

  • Services included:
Buffet breakfasts and three-course lunches with salad and cheese bar, drink with lunch, Captain’s dinner with live music, sightseeing, English speaking tour manager, entrance fees to Krka NP, olive oil and wine tasting on board, Visitors' tax & port fees, luggage handling, daily cabin service, complimentary water throughout the day, complimentary Wi-Fi.

  • On-deck and lower deck cabins:
Cabins are situated on the deck and on the lower deck. ON DECK CABINS can be situated on the MAIN deck (deck on which you step on as you embark the vessel) and on the UPPER deck (deck on top of the main deck). Cabins on the lower deck are actually in the hull of the vessel. Advantage of cabins situated on deck is the direct exit to sea and more fresh air, while cabins on lower deck are sometimes quieter (only fellow passengers who booked lower deck cabins will pass by and not all passengers from your vessel as well as other vessels when docked) and comfortable because they are situated in a sea level which chills cabins naturally. Cabins on the lower deck mostly have little portholes.

  • Own drinks on board:
It is not allowed to bring and to consume your own drinks on the vessel. You can order drinks at the vessel salon which is at the same time a restaurant, living room, and a bar. The bar is equipped with different alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In case you would like to consume a drink not available at time, please advise the crew and they will try to arrange it for you at the next port of call.

  • Gratuities:
We believe that tips should reflect good service and your satisfaction with the cruise manager, crew and overall tour. Crew gratuities are equally distributed among the crew. Tipping is voluntary and completely at the discretion of individual trip participants.
    Tipping suggestion per person

    • Cruise Manager: 35 - 50 EUR per person per week

    • Crew (all vessel services and assistance with luggage): 70 - 100 EUR per guest per week

    • Local guide (offers in-depth information at specific locations; there may be many guides along a tour program): 2-3 EUR (per half day of sightseeing)

    • Restaurants & Cafes: If not included, tip 10%-15% of the check, depending on the quality of service

    • Taxis: Tip up to 10% of the fare.

Vessel rules are meant to protect the passengers on board and we would like all clients to have consideration of other people.
If in our opinion any passenger behaves in a way to cause or likely to cause danger or distress to any third party, we reserve the right to terminate the travel of the person(s) concerned without any refund.
Passengers on board are obliged to abide by the ship rules, as the captain is responsible for the safety of all passengers and the crew.

    • Passports are to be handed to the captain for registration on the first day of the cruise

    • Jumping or diving from the ship during navigation is strictly forbidden.

    • During rough weather, movement should be minimized and done with care, as floors can often be wet and slippery.

    • Passengers should take extra care when crossing between the ships when ships are docked alongside in port. It is advised to ask a crew member for assistance when crossing. Be aware that crossing between ships is at the individual’s responsibility.

    • Safety belts are placed under the seats in the dining area and under the bed in the cabins or in the wardrobe, depending on the ship.

    • As ships can sometimes be acoustic, passengers are asked to behave accordingly. Special attention must be given to night peace onboard, which officially starts at midnight and in National Parks night peace is required even earlier, passengers will be notified

    • Smoking in the restaurant area and in the cabins is not allowed. There is a designated smoking area on the deck. Passengers must not throw cigarette butts in the sea.

    • Bed linen and other items are not to be moved from the cabin.

    • Only toilette paper is allowed to be throw in the toilette

    • Passengers are not permitted to bring drinks and food on the vessel. This includes all drinks and food purchased on shore in ports of call. The only exceptions are: personal care products, medicine, food products specifically for infants and food products for special diets. Typical regional products purchased during visits to the ports will be stored on board to be returned to passengers at the end of the cruise.

    • Passengers are obliged to respect mealtimes, which will be placed on the board in the dining area, as well as departure times from ports.

    • Passengers are responsible for looking after their personal belongings whilst travelling. Katarina Line cannot be held responsible for any personal belongings left behind or damaged irrespective of the circumstances.

    • Any damage must be compensated to the captain by the passenger. Lost cabin keys will be charged 30 €/key.

    • It is strictly forbidden to throw rubbish into the sea.

    • Water is limited onboard, therefore please be very rational with it. The same applies to electricity which runs on the generator.

    • Portholes in lower deck cabins during navigation must be closed to avoid cabins getting wet by the sea water entering the cabin through the porthole.

    • The captain and the crew will be available for any questions or queries and will do their best to make your stay on board a most pleasurable one. If the captain and his crew are not providing satisfactory service, please tell us on board or contact the Katarina Line office for further help, as our aim is to make you satisfied during your stay onboard.

    • Service charge is not included in the price and therefore please tip at your own discretion.

    • The captain has the right to change the itinerary in case of bad weather or similar inappropriate conditions in ports to ensure safety on board.

  • SPECIAL NOTICE:Flamingo Cruise and Katarina Line will not be held responsible for any accidents that may occur onboard and insists that clients are informed of this and of the need for extra observation and caution whilst being onboard or walking between ship(s) and mainland.
